Thank you to the Downtown community! ❤️ 🧡 💛

Because of your efforts, Downtown Phoenix Inc. & Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA) are proud to announce that our organizations have won the 2024 One Community Unity Pledge challenge.

Every Pride Month in June, local organizations participate in a friendly competition to gather the most signatures to advance workplace equality and equal treatment in housing and public accommodations for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) individuals and their allies. 🌈

Between our two organizations, we gathered more than a dozen businesses to sign onto the pledge that stated firmly and unequivocally: We're Open for Business to Everyone.

Every signature was pivotal in the final result and affirmed the truth that our Greater Downtown community is full of businesses, stakeholders and PCA Members who make it an unwaveringly welcome place.
Many irons are in the fire at The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Phoenix (@svdpaz)! 🔥

Yesterday, PCA's Membership Services Director, Brandon Ramsey, and Content Specialist, Taylor Costello, toured their facility south of Downtown Phoenix. The facility offers an impressive range of services, including workforce housing, dental clinics, and even a dining hall.

The visit was also a springboard for how our two organizations could collaborate with future volunteer opportunities. 💡

Here are some stunning observations and stats that stood out during our visit:

🔵 When SVdP facilitated positive exits for individuals experiencing homelessness in the area around the Key Campus (@KeysToChangeAZ), there was an 80% acceptance rate of people who wanted to connect with services.
🔵 The kitchen inside their Family Dining Room serves 7,000 meals daily and offers a dining experience to children and their families every weekday. It is an entry point for staff to learn what services these families may need.
🔵 In August, 71 workforce housing beds for individuals transitioning back into society will become available inside Ozanam Manor.
🔵 The volume of food donated to their community pantries is stored in Dole banana boxes because of their durable, easily transportable design.

✨ Stay tuned for membership-volunteer opportunities that Brandon is planning with the team at SVdP. ✨

Thank you to Brandon Buck for the tour and for highlighting how St. Vincent de Paul is helping to Feed, Clothe, House, and Heal.

Downtown Phoenix wouldn't be the same without Kimber Lanning.

Over time, she transformed from the owner of @StinkweedsRecords and Modified Arts (@modified_arts_phx) into a regionally recognized community development advocate through her nonprofit Local First Arizona. 🎵 🤝

To learn about her decades of community leadership as an amplifier of economic development, follow the 🔗 in bio! 👇
