VISION, MISSION, DIRECTION:
OUR VISION IS TO SEE A CULTURAL SHIFT IN THE WAY WE AS A COMMUNITY THINK ABOUT, ENGAGE AND TREAT INDIVIDUALS.
OUR MISSION is to prevent Trauma Related Loss by building resiliency and empowering our youth, families and communities, through trauma informed care, education and enrichment activities and to provide scholarships to students majoring in nursing.
WE DO THIS BY coordinating and advocating for Trauma Informed Care Support and Certifications for parents, individuals and organizations, Kayaking Empowerment outings, Self-Healing initiatives and retreats, Collaborative Art Projects and Awarding Scholarships.
Skye's the Limit Foundation is a 501c3 Public Charity addressing Trauma Education & Awareness and Substance Abuse & Suicide Prevention. We are building a Trauma-Informed Community, providing access to Trainings on Trauma-Informed Care, providing Youth Empowerment Activities and Awarding Scholarships for future health practitioners.
This past year, with the rise in childhood trauma, we are also seeing a rise in fatal overdoses reaching nearly 100,000 *fatal overdoses in a 12-month period ending June of 2021. (*CDC)
My daughter Skye, 03/07/1995 – 09/30/2014, faced incredible challenges with trauma. She died of an overdose at the age of 19 in 2014. Awareness on trauma informed care/response/approach was not readily available for her or myself at the time. We strongly believe that it's important and life-saving to understand trauma and how to live life and respond with an intentional, trauma-informed and empowered mindset. -Keiko Ratcliffe, Founder of Skye's the Limit Foundation
We are a strong proponent of civic engagement through collaborating efforts and resources to prevent substance abuse and suicide. We believe that by becoming a member with Phoenix Community Alliance, we can, as a community, utilize our assets to its fullest potential towards building a healthy, vibrant and socially responsible community of citizens.
