Jones Studio is an architecture, interior design, public art, and planning firm based in the Phoenix Metro area, widely recognized for designing beautiful, resilient buildings that honor their place and purpose. Founded in 1979 by Eddie Jones, FAIA, the studio has grown through decades of thoughtful leadership and creative excellence. In June 2025, after nearly four decades of guiding the practice, Neal Jones, FAIA, retired. Today, the firm is led by President Jacob Benyi, AIA, and Principal Brian Farling, AIA—co-owners who bring a shared vision and deep commitment to innovation, sustainability, and design integrity. The rich history of our studio is embedded in all that we do, but the relentless pursuit of innovation remains a driving force behind our work. We see each project as a new adventure and a new opportunity to create architecture that is timeless and generous. We understand that our impact goes beyond the building—from the land we touch to the people we engage. Sustainability, resiliency, and wellness are at the heart of our work and integral to every project. In all that we do, we seek to give back more than we take.As a professional practice, we create places that tell the stories of their own making, that engage the imagination as well as the senses, and that draw inspiration from a deep understanding of our collective responses to nature, culture, and history. Our work strives to facilitate a manner of being in the world that allows for grace, comfort, beauty, humor, and significance.Jones Studio’s work has garnered more than 250 design awards for more than 75 projects, including the national AIA Design Honor Award for Architecture and the GSA Design Excellence Program Honor Award in Architecture. We have been recognized repeatedly for advancing sustainable design with 17 Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards and six APS Energy Awards. The studio’s ability to create strong teams has resulted in five AIA Arizona Goodwin Awards for outstanding collaborative effort between a project’s architect, contractor, and owner. Jones Studio has also received the AIA Arizona and the AIA Western Mountain Region’s Firm of the Year Award. Our people embody our values each day, from the thoughtful spaces we design to the organizations we support. Eddie Jones continues to serve as a Peer Reviewer for the U.S. General Services Administration’s Design Excellence program, and is in his 7th year on the Board of Governors for The School of Architecture. Eddie’s public speaking schedule is increasing in scope and locale. Jacob Benyi serves on the Executive Board for Scouting America’s Grand Canyon Council, and contributes to various Scouting committees at the Service Territory and National levels. Brian Farling serves on the Arizona Forward Central Regional Council, teaches at the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture, and regularly speaks at conferences across the country. Neal Jones spent 20 years on the Arizona Board of Technical Registration and—though retired—continues to mentor other architects on best business practices. We know that our impact spreads far beyond the drafting table, and support our people in serving as leaders in our communities.
