Welcome to ADOT's Statewide Listening Tour! We are coming to you to listen, learn, build strong relationships with communities, and work toward a shared vision for the future of transportation in our state.  A statewide vision is important because not all transportation needs are being met in our state. We all recognize that funding is limited and always will be. This reality leads to most of the state barely funding essential maintenance projects and rarely funding projects that build a wholistic transportation system.  What will begin to move Arizona from piecemeal projects to a wholistic, interconnected transportation system? A shared vision encompassing multiple perspectives from all corners of Arizona. If we agree on a clear vision up front, and each piece is built in phases based on available funding, we can demonstrate how each phase moves the state closer to the bigger picture of a statewide, interconnected transportation system.  This is a Listening Tour not a “telling” tour. By starting with listening, we’re showing that collaboration comes first—and that we’re committed to creating a system that works for everyone who lives in or visits Arizona. Each Listening Session will include a welcome from ADOT Leadership followed by group introductions and a facilitated group discussion intended to inform the statewide transportation vision.  Here is a sample list of questions we will ask:   What connects you to the transportation system?  How does transportation fit into the Arizona you love? What are unmet transportation needs in your region? What do you hope never changes? What do you hope changes? What is your relationship to the state’s transportation system? Tell us what you think the state transportation consists of. Read more Read less
