Arizona Capitol Mall Centennial Way & Flag Walk Project
In collaboration with the Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA), the Arizona Centennial Commission completed it’s first Arizona Signature Project.
The PCA took the lead on a fundraising campaign that helped launch the official Arizona Capitol Mall Centennial Flag Walk project and the Arizona Centennial Commission obtained major sponsors bluemedia and Floresco to manufacture and install the banners, flags and “Centennial Way” street signs.
To celebrate Arizona’s upcoming 100 years of statehood, the Arizona Capitol Mall Centennial Flag Walk Project features 54 Arizona State Flags on street light poles along Washington Street from 7th Avenue and around Wesley Bolin Plaza that will be displayed until July 31, 2011. On August 1, 2011, official Arizona Centennial Flags will replace the Arizona Sate Flags through the state's centennial year 2012.
